Biography

Prof. Guihua Yu is currently with Materials Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. He received Ph.D. degree from Harvard University in 2009, after graduating from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) with the highest honor in 2003. Dr. Yu did his postdoc research at Stanford University (2009-2012).

Prof. Yu's research focuses on rational design and synthesis of functional nano-architectured materials, particularly organic and hybrid organic-inorganic nanomaterials, fundamental understanding of their chemical and physical properties, and development of large-scale assembly and integration methodologies to enable their technologically important applications in energy, environment and sustainability. Yu has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers in many prominent scientific journals (~33,400 total citations, H-index~94) including Science, Nature, Nature Reviews MaterialsNature MaterialsNature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, Science Advances, PNAS, Chemical ReviewsChemical Society Reviews, Accounts of Chemical Research, Chem, Joule, JACS, Angewandte Chemie, Advanced Materials, Energy & Environmental Sciences, Nano LettersACS Nano, ACS Central Science, ACS Energy Letters, Chem.
